We’re looking for writers!

As Bright Publishing expands its portfolio of magazines, we’re looking for fantastic feature writers to join our pool of freelancers. We want to make connections with experienced writers who can create engaging, intelligent and entertaining copy, work well to a brief, and pitch their own ideas for features as the new publications develop. Living locally to Cambridge would be convenient, but it’s not essential. If you’re an editorial whizz with a specialism in business and/or technology, we especially want to hear from you. Creative Designer

Cambridge based creative agency, Bright, is looking for a confident, organised, self-motivated, designer with an eye for detail to join our fast-paced team. Are you an experienced magazine designer who has the ability to take simple editorial and create visually appealing layouts work for a variety of magazines?

Or are you a creative designer with the ability to produce, fresh, innovative solutions for a variety of projects, including ad campaigns, apps and websites for a blue chip client?

With at-least two year’s industry experience, you will be need first-hand experience of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator with a good understanding of both print production and interactive digital practices.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Work well within a team but can also able to work independently
  • Take responsibly for their own tasks from start to finish
  • Think conceptually and creatively, continually adapting and evolving as new challenges arise
  • Translate complex briefs into simple, understandable and innovative solutions

Digital Content Writer

We're looking for a proactive, Digital Content Writer to join a growing team servicing the digital needs of our print and online portfolio. Duties would include working closely with the Head of Digital Content to devise strategies to drive online traffic to the company websites, overseeing content creation activities for web, creating content calendars and scheduling work and writing entertaining and informative search engine optimised copy among other tasks.

The successful individual should come armed with bags of enthusiasm, and a hunger for success. Ability to plan meticulously, and create engaging, creative copy is a must.

An interest in the broadcast or photographic industry would be a plus, but not essential. A competitive salary is available for this position based on experience. Junior Developer - 1-year fixed contract

Cambridge based creative agency, Bright, is looking for a confident, organised, self-motivated, Junior Developer with an eye for detail to join our fast-paced, commercial digital team.

DUTIES:

  • Predominantly your task will be to build HTML newsletters for clients.
  • You will also get involved in building web banners including animated, digital magazines, and websites for blue chip clients
  • Take responsibility of your own tasks from start to finish.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • It is not essential, but it would be beneficial if you had a good working knowledge of Timeline animation, PHP, MySQL and Wordpress.
  • A good understanding of both print production and interactive digital practices.
  • You should be able to work well within a team but also independently.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and the opportunities they present.
  • A must have a positive attitude to every task you undertake and always strive for perfection.
